It’s a slow time for birding and the heat in Livermore has me indoors so (stimulated by your URL, here’s one of my own detailing the 50 State Bird Photos quest

Wishing you all the best. Ride well and in good health.
I’m enjoying life in Livermore. No, I haven’t died — yet. Just a quick note from my phone.

Your son was my contact at the RV place in ABQ.
I found a pound of melted lead from our old canon target tree after it burned in the Certo Grande fire.
I remember some epic car chases around Los Alamos. I saw your bus on two wheels.

Lady Di, you are probably making cards right now. I don’t miss the proton factory at all.
Things I am thankful for from my youth: my nurturing nature, mostly good health, supportive family, the woods where I played and imagined, pets, mechanical inclination, the times I lived when a feather's intervention would have made me die, capable intelligence, friends, lessons learned through adversaries, girls, hitch hiking.
Things I regret from my youth: my arrogance, cluelessness about relationships, sunburn.
Things I regret in my maturity: cluelessness about relationships, sunburn, sudden sprouting of an allergy to meat.
Things I am thankful for in my maturity: obeying Jesus the Messiah, humility, family, health such as it is, "secure" finances, the friendly bachelor lifestyle, birds, bilateral knee replacements.
Things I got paid to do: grunt labor, housing construction, cafeteria management, river guide and program manager, drilling for water wells and ore body exploration, oilfield construction, X-C ski instructor, retail sales and management, machinist, Mech Tech work which I'd have done at home for free, team leading for destroying nuclear weapons, birding guide, business owner (see RapidRung.com ).
Volunteer work: BSA scout leader, Partners For Change ally, birding guide at Patagonia Lake State Park.
